Stephen Najda
Stephen Najda was born in Glasgow of Scottish-Polish parentage.
Stephen discovered art by chance and good fortune on the flat land of Oxford. However he quickly got bored with ‘classical’ art and pursued a ‘new path’ of self-expressionism in both art and literature.
His painting focuses on the human form from many different perspectives, from classical through to the abstract dimension using colour, tone, shape, form, and brush stroke to create a powerful and complex narrative. Many of the visual themes explored on oil and canvas cover past journeys, old relationships and future hopes. Steve has a deep interest in the primitive self, exploring the boundary between imagination and consciousness – “I like going into the unknown and painting what I don’t know”.
